Optimum Conditions for Cotton Seed Planting:

Soil Temp at 2 in depth must be greater than or equal to 68°F at mid-morning.

Minimum Air Temp for next 5 days must be greater than 50°F.

5 Day Accum. of DD60 Forecasted:
 < 10 : Very Poor
11-15: Poor
16-25: Marginal
25-50: Good
>51 : Very Good

In areas without Mesonet soil sensors, users will see "No Forecast Available" . However the DD60 Forecast for 5 Day Accumulation and 5 Day Minimum Air Temperature Forecast is available from the National Weather Service.

In areas where soil temperatures are available, please note that the sensors record values on bare non-tilled soils.
